The Salzkammergut Trophy 2010 will take place on July 17, 2010. Registration is possible as of February. In order to reduce the number of bikers on the two main courses, a new additional 68 km course has been signposted and will be presented from October 16 until 18, 2009. We would like to invite all bikers to a course inspection in the Salzkammergut as an end-of-season special.

Friday 16th of October - Individual journey to Bad Goisern

07:00 pm meeting point for all participants at the Halleralm, Dinner (Lumberjack Nocken), presentation of the program during the weekend and the course, introducing the guides as well as arranging the various groups.


Saturday, 17th of October - The new Trophy Distance (68 km, 2.155 altitude difference)

08.30 am meeting point with the guides at the parking lot "Parkplatz Mitte" in Bad Goisern, distribution of the lunch boxes, 08.45 am departure on the bikes to Obertraun (ca. 20 km)
 
or 09.00 am meeting point at the train station Bad Goisern, distribution of the lunch boxes, 09.16 am departure with the train to Obertraun
 
10.00 am Start of the course inspection at the Sportplatz Obertraun to the Marktplatz in Bad Goisern

06.00 pm meeting point Rathlucka-Hütte, "Bratl"dinner and photo session (pictures of the day)

                    
Sunday 18th of October - The "Small-Course" with the E-Bike (52,9 km, 1.450 altitude difference)

10.30 am Distribution of the E-Bikes at the tourism office/ Bad Goisern Parkplatz Mitte
(Attention! limited number of bikes, please pre-book!)

11.00 am start of the 53 km course at the Parkplatz Mitte in Bad Goisern (applies for all bikers, no matter if e-bike or with your own bike.)

about 01.30 pm lunch at the Hütteneck - Eiernockerl or Kasnockn (egg or cheese dumplings)

07.00 pm return of the E-Bikes a Parkplatz Mitte

Well the Salzkammergut Trophy is taking place since 12 years and in 2009 we just missed the new participants record by a hair's breadth: exactly 4.295 bikers from 31 nations were registered at the Salzkammergut Trophy on July 18, 2009 - of which 546 signed up for the 206 km extreme distance. However the weather did not play along. 3.947 bikers collected their race number, 2.873 bikers showed up during pouring rain at the starting line and were fighting the elements.

Around 11 am - bad news: snow on the Roßalm
The two long distance races had to be shortened resp. cancelled due to lowest temperature and 20 cm fresh snow. The returnees are marked by exhaustion - the bikers are totally soaked, marked by the ordeal and chilled to the bone, but happy.

Sunday - Unicyclist Downhill
On the next day the sun and winner David Weichenberger are both smiling during the unicyclist downhill. The several times WC winner is the fastest going down the 500 meters altitude difference.

4.100,- Euro for the Debra-Kids

This year Mr. Ing. Andreas Engelhardt founder of the charity campaign "Biking 4 Butterfly Children" was able to raise 4.100 Euro for the Debra - Kids. Bad Goisern's vice-major Fritz Pomberger presented the check to Salzburg's Vice State Parliament Representative , KV-Stv. Gudrun Mosler-Törnström and Dr. Rainer Riedl, chair of the debra-austria association. Many thanks to all participants for their donations and purchasing the Trophy Jerseys.

The Dachstein is the "boundary-post" of three states which means the course leads you through Styria, Salzburg and Upper Austria. The signposted course around this mountain landmark of the Salzkammergut is for sure one of the most spectacular tours of the Eastern Alps. The course leads from the town center of St. Agatha to Bad Aussee, along the Salza storage lake towards the Viehberg Alp, via Gröbming through the Enns valley to Ramsau, it continues to Filzmoos und Annaberg and via Gosau back to Bad Goisern. Ideal for sporty bikers in a three days leg.

Besides the 182 kilometer "Original Course", there is now also a new 270 kilometer long extreme version sign posted in both directions. The "Kellys Dachstein loop" is technically more challenging and leads every now and then to the original course. So this is a perfect tour for biker groups of different biking levels.
