Two thirds of the 1.500 starting positions of the 110 km course are already booked! A great increase has been also registered for the other distances. In total more than 2.900 bikers have already registered for the Salzkammergut Trophy on the 18th of July.

New Course map online!

The new course map is already online. Current altitude charts and GPS data are available as of June. Except for Raschberg (point B) and the passage from Hallstatt to Roßalm (point V) all tracks are snow-free and may be explored anytime. End of June well-versed competition experts of the MTB-Zentrum Salzkammergut will organize a guided inspection tour, whereas the extreme distances will be done in three days. The 110 km course will be tackled in two stages and for the last day the 53 km distance is scheduled respectively as an alternative a driving skill training.

Kids and youngsters in the age group from three to 16 may demonstrate their skills at the Junior-Trophy on Sunday. Far-off from heavy road traffic and next to the Nordic sports center in Ramsau there is a great varied course running through the woods and along the meadows offering also an ideal infrastructure for this competition. The tracks have been carefully selected and adjusted according to the age of the junior bikers. The top five girls and boys of each age group will receive a cup respectively a certificate which will be presented during the Trophy's final ceremony in the pavilion on the Market Square of Bad Goisern.

Besides the Muni-Marathon as part of the Salzkammergut Trophy on Saturday, this year there will be again a downhill competition for unicyclists! At the opposite end of the valley at the mountain hotel Predigstuhl the mass start for this spectacular race will take place at high noon! More than 30 daredevils participated in the last year's premiere and almost all of them made it to the finish...  Fastest was David Weichenberger from Linz - former world champion of 2006 and 2008 in this discipline. Non-cash prizes worth more than 20.000 Euros are waiting for the teams of the Trophy SlowMotion Rating First prizes are bike backpacks by Deuter, new club jerseys by Redvill, a C3 DS bike computer by VDO and bike gloves by Roeckl for the 100 "slowest" bikers of a team! Again the Trophy Tombola has non-cash prizes worth more than 6.500 Euro! Last year, participant Matthias Brandl was the lucky one - he won a hotel voucher for a one week vacation for two people on the Canary Islands and was really thrilled being in the bikers' paradise!

On June 13, 2009 the second marathon race of the Rocky Mountain BIKE Marathon Series, will take place in Willingen with more than 2000 participants - the highlight of the three-day SYMPATEX BIKE Festival powered by NISSAN. Available are three courses between 51 km and 124 km. Course manager Volker Schröder has chosen an better course compared to last year.
