Experience less mud, less asphalt, extremely steep climbs and the most beautiful trails and down hills ofthe UNESCO World Heritage Region Dachstein-Hallstatt. The new World Cup course in Bad Goisern is exactly 100.7 kilometres long and runs mostly along the route ofthe 2004 Marathon World Championship. This year's biggest change is thedownhill towards the center of Bad Altaussee and the following climb towards the Ausseer Salzbergwerk. The Ewige Wand - the Eternal Wall and the course lap locatedin the Weissenbach valley are this year going to be tackled at the very end ofthe race. This way there will be no mud downhill below the Rathluck´n cottage, but instead a very challenging down hill along the Joch wall. The course runs from Weißenbach along the riverside of the Traun passing trough Gröb to the finishing line at market place in Bad Goisern. With its 3.617 meters change in altitude and almost 25 kilometres tracksand trails the Salzkammergut is the most difficult course within the UCI World Cupseries. A winner's time of more than four hours is to be expected. Still for anaverage trained mountain biker this is not an impossible mission. The time limit of the World Cup course is eleven hours. On the Trophy Extreme Distance the time limit is 16 hours - but the lap has to done twice!

Ewige Wand - Eternal Wall also at the Beginners' Marathon
The new World Cup course is also the basis for all Trophy distances. The two beginners' routes are almost seven kilometres longer than last year' scourse but the change in altitude is nearly the same. Mud passages before thefinishing line are not part of the program anymore but instead for the first time the bikers of the "small courses” pass through the Ewige Wand! more
