Meanwhile there are three very popular routes - as nothing beats like biking this vast network of gravel, forest and paved side roads surrounded by most unique mountains and lakes of the Dachstein-Salzkammergut region.
The longest gravel course, which starts in Obertraun, is 67.6 kilometres long and almost identical to the C-Course of the MTB Marathon. Only the start loop and the extremely steep ascent to Hallstätter Salzberg have been dropped. Still 1,952 meters elevation gain, a gear ratio suitable for mountain biking is highly recommended.
In terms of biking technique, the 52 kilometre route is much easier! It covers a manageable 1,236 meters in altitude. And perfect for rookies and juniors is the gravel classification on the shortest Trophy route with 22 kilometers and 567 meters elevation.
